SAFE: Important Updates and a Fond Farewell

Dear SAFE Community Partners,

I am writing to share two important programmatic updates that were recently approved by the Commission.

The updated SAFE policy and the new NFK/Strangulation Request for Payment Form are now live and accessible on our website. You can access them directly through the SAFE folder on the VVF Forms and Documents page. Please review these updates at your earliest convenience to ensure your records and processes align with the new guidelines.

On a more personal note, I want to share that I will be retiring from the Virginia Victims Fund, and my last official day will be July 10. It has been an absolute honor to be a part of SAFE and to work with all of you over the years. The dedication, resilience, and compassion you bring to supporting the individuals and families we serve have deeply inspired me, and I am incredibly grateful for the meaningful partnerships we have built together.

As I step into this next chapter, I take great comfort in knowing that AnneLewis Vowell will be there to take care of SAFE and the people who need it. Knowing she is there gives me immense peace of mind that our vital mission remains in the best possible hands. Thank you all for your unwavering support and for the profound impact you make every day.
